The building of the Anson airframe is getting close to its conclusion. The last complex part of the build is the underside of the wing. It needs to smoothly fit into the fuselage shape. None of the components for this exercise are supplied in the kit, mostly because they are not drawn on the plan. As it is a pain to take the wing off every time a battery needs changing or charging, I decided to make three hatches on the underside of the fuselage and to join the rear fairing to the fuselage. The reasons for three hatches? The front hatch is for easy changing of the battery; centre wing hatch covered in 0.4 mm ply to hide the wing bolts; rear hatch to allow the flap linkage to slot into the fuselage without having to disconnect the servo every time the wing is removed. When Avro designed the C19 Anson it seems their designers were probably not concentrating on what they were doing.
