Welcome to the July issue of RC Model World. For this issue I put together a small, foam electric glider, the Art-Tech Diamond 1100. To fly it I visited the model dub where my colleague, Barry Atkinson is the chairman. Barry takes most of the flying pictures of the review models featured in this magazine, as well as being the Editor of RC Jet International. Barry and his dubmates fly from a well-prepared strip in the heart of Gloucestershire. It's a lovely site, but does have more than its fair share of trees. Now I'm not usually bothered by towering greenery as trees on all sides border my local patch, and they don't really interfere with the flying pattern too much. But at Barry's dub site they are closer and do seem to spring up from nowhere.
