This year, the Guernsey Model Club celebrated the 40th Anniversary of its formation; and to mark this milestone, it was decided to undertake a radio controlled model aircraft flight between Guernsey and one of the smaller offshore islands -Herm. A similar flight had taken place some 30 years previous, with a flight between Guernsey and Sark; so although the distance involved on the 2011 flight was to be a lot less - less than 5 miles return, the specific challenge of flying an R/C model from a boat travelling at 20 knots plus, was still there!
