These events are always superbly organised by Dick Spreadbury and this time was attended by over 40 pilots and many spectators from all over the country. The weather was chilly but dry with light winds however, I think the prospect of rain later on had put some off the journey.rnThe Classic Jets events always start off with the same faces setting up the marquee and cooking area but one feature that was distinctly missing was transmitter control; 2.4 GHz transmitters have made Tx control redundant, the only pilot who was flying with a 35 MHz transmitter was the legendary Pym Smith. As the morning moved on the pits area was getting busier with progressively larger and larger models.
