My travels this month have taken me to various events, but for me the best has to be the annual gathering of giant scale models in France. Aerodrome de Cerny, La Ferte-Alais is the home of the Jean Baptiste Salis vintage aircraft collection and it is here that I spent a long weekend in late June in the blistering heat to bring to you the best giant examples of scale model aircraft from Europe. Turn to page 98 to see the best of the best. There just isn't enough room this time to show everything so I'm hoping to bring you more soon. This show has to be the highlight of any scale modellers dream, with models spanning 6 metres and often bigger and weighing up to 100 kg with engines of up to 800 cc - or more! If you like scale aircraft then make this show a 'must visit' for next year's calendar.
