This book follows on from Thomas Newdick's Aircraft of the Cold War 1945-1991 that we reviewed last year. You need to remember that a book of this type is out of date as soon as the ink dries. Our beloved Harrier force is a typical example. They are listed here and we watched the final flights a few days before Christmas. The copy is recent enough to mention that th< Australian F-111s will have retired by the end of 2010. This apart, this is a very handy reference work showing who is operating what and where in most countries across the world. The book is broken down into regions of the world and then into individual countries. The first section is on North America with about 20 pages on aircraft operated by the USA. Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps aircraft are covered.
