Now I realise I shouldn't begin with a quote but Large Model Association chairman Dave Johnson was so upbeat about the first LMA static and trade show in the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, Warwickshire that it seems right.rnThe Centre houses the world's largest collection of British classic cars and is well worth a visit in its own right. On a damp Sunday in October it opened its doors to the LMA and their members put in a great effort to have well over a hundred models on show.rnThere were two dedicated halls, one a tribute to Bomber Command where there were examples of a Manchester, forerunner of the more famous Lancaster of which there were several examples and a Dakota. The other hall housed the Dawn Patrol whose members were on hand to talk about this new team and happy to go into great detail about their models (RCMW featured them in our October 2008 edition) and they certainly attracted a lot of interest. Moving into the larger hall there was something for everyone, from a massive all moulded glider to a part built example of a 4.9 m span four-en-gined De Havilland 86 by John Ricketts that will be powered by four Laser 180 engines.
