The American Sig Company have had kits for the Piper Cub in their catalogue for more years than I care to remember. In my early years of radio flying the 1:6 scale 71" span Sig model of the Cub was a model that I always yearned for. As time moved on and models got bigger it was the 1:4 scale 105" span version of this kit that attracted my attention. I did think of bringing one back with me after attending the 1992 Scale World Championships that took place at Muncie in the USA but was worried about fitting the kit into my luggage allowance. In the end I brought back two much smaller rubber powered Sig kits, the Monocoupe 90A and the 'Mister Mulligan'. I was therefore quite surprised when we were talking modelling on the flying field a few weeks ago when Percy X one of our 'builders' said that he was starting on a small clipped wing Cub for electric power from the Sig kit. Where the kit had come from or how long Percy had had it I did not know but I did manage to persuade him to bring the plan along to the next club meeting.
