MVVS or Modelling Research and Development Centre to give the business its imposing title, has come a long way since it was established on October the 15th 1953. The centre was originally created to boost the competitive image of Czechoslovakian aeromodelling under the communist regime. The need to promote the sport was largely due to the efforts of World Record holder and pioneer of Czechoslovakian aeromodelling, Zdenek Husicka. In 1954 J. Sladky, another Czechoslovakian idol was crowned World Champion in a World Championship class in Paris in 1955. As sponsors and supporter of the champions, MVVS came into its own as a leading engine manufacturer, and its varied range of engines won fame and many World titles in the 1.5 to 10 cc engine sizes.
