The Galaxy Mustang progresses, bit by bit, and has reached the stage of being ready for its range testing and first flight. Prior to that it has been fitted with the final choice of engine, an MVVS 160 petrol. This is slightly heavier than I really wanted, though lighter than most other petrol options. The C of G comes on the design point when the battery packs are located over the wing trailing edge in the fuselage. To take advantage of an S.M. Services Opto-Isolator there is a 2100 mAh NiCad 5-cell pack, and a small AAA 4-cell NiMH pack used by the receiver alone, both from Overlander. I calculate that the small one will keep the receiver going for about 30 hours non-stop, and nothing in the aeroplane can do anything to rob the receiver of the essential voltage. Servo supplies all come from the big one.
