Last month I spent quite a time concentrating on being comfortable with the model hovering in different positions relative to the pilot. I did, however, leave out the position that is probably the most feared by the novice, and quite a few more experienced pilots, and that is nose in. For some reason or other most people dread learning to hover nose in. I cannot imagine why this should cause so many problems, as the helicopter does not fly any different, so it has to be down to the pilot. Anyway, for those of you learning, I do not intend starting on nose in hovering just at the moment, I thought that this month it was about time we started to move the helicopter around a little. Now, for those of you amongst us who can already fly an aeroplane, what we are going to do will in no way resemble the sort of circuit flying that you would do with an aeroplane.
