Radar is a vital part of most military electronics suites. While electro-optical devices and infrared (IR) sensors have grown in importance in recent years, radar still forms a core part of aircraft avionics suites, battlefield command networks, missile defense shields, and air traffic control systems. Defense departments and ministries are the primary buyers of military radars, and air traffic control agencies and airlines the primary buyers of commercial systems.
