High frequency electromagnetic fields emitted by cell phones, mobile phone base stations or transmitters for radio and television broadcast are suspected of having adverse health effects on man. There is some indication that electromagnetic fields can cause biological effects even when the exposure is below limits set by International organisations like the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) or the European Commission.
