摘要

Having investigated the possibility of establishing an information system on the application of radiation in medicine in the Netherlands, a system is proposed based mainly on a combination of data from currently available registries and surveys. In general, informwation at institutional level is incomplete due to lack of data in the registries or to limited surveying. Numbers lacking must then be estimated to obtain the national overview. After sutdying which institution-related quantity correlates best with eh number of conventioanl X ray, CT and nuclear medicine examinations, the number of admissions per hospital was found to be the most indicative of the number of diagnostic examinations using ionising radiation.
