摘要

A monte Carlo computer model of X ray imaging systems has been developed which uses a voxel phantom to simulate the patient. Imag details were selected in accordance with the European quality criteira document. Contrst and signal-to-noise ratio for these details were calcualted to estimate image quality. Effective dose was computed to enable optimisation. The program was validated with measurements on phantoms, patients and digitised patient iamges. It we demosntrated that the computational model of the imaging system provides prediction of entrance dose and contrast that lie within the range of values meausred on patients.
