The goal of this paper is to present a methodology to comapre the performances of enw screen-film systems by means of different approaches. The first method is based on a subjective evaluation of films produced with two mammographic test objects. The second method is based on an objecitve image quality assessment applying the quasi-ideal observer model. Finally, a clionical compariosn was performed on two particular systems. The results show a very good correlation between the different awpproaches.
