This month, Keith Hamer and Garry Smith concentrate on the exciting start to the DXTV Sporadic-E season and they have held over their normal satellite news until next time.rnIt has certainly been an encouraging start to the Sporadic-E season, with the first signals noted on May 1st. From 1052 UTC, Peter Barber (Coventry) noticed pictures on Channel A (53.75MHz) from either the Italian RAI UNO or TLA services. From 1114, he received TVE-1 (Spain) E2 (48.25MHz) over the course of twenty minutes.rnThe first prolonged opening was on the 13th and by 0810, R1 (49.75MHz) pictures were overcoming the baby alarm interference with ease here in Derby. A subtitled programme on E2 was identified as NRK-1 (Norway) from Hemnes. From 0850, R2 (58.25MHz) images were received from Nova (Czech Republic) and also later on R1, which confirms that this transmitter, which is just south of Prague, is still broadcasting in analogue.
