David from Egham contacted me regarding the item in my April column concerning railway frequencies and in particular, Secure Cab Radio. He lives in Egham, near to the London Waterloo to Staines-Reading line, and he has noticed the vertically polarised UHF Yagi beam antennas at Egham station that are aligned with the track direction, which curves as it goes west out from Egham. David's query is about the channels. The table in the April column, which coincides with current scanning frequency guides that both David and I checked, only goes up to Ch. 19. He's now confused by a sign showing 'CSR 80' and wonders what it means. He also recalls seeing the same sort of sign but with a '59' on it when he took a train from East Worthing a few weeks earlier.
