Robert discusses other radio options available to vessels not carrying HF marine equipment. Commercial vessels crossing large expanses of water such as the Atlantic are required to carry HF radio equipment. Smaller vessels such as yachts are, however, not officially required to carry such equipment and many do not - although some do. This month, I will be looking at those that don't carry HF marine radio.
