摘要

The 6th MAPS (Management and Policy Studies) seminar organised by UIC in coop-eration with the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) in Tehran from 29 to 31 January brought together over 300 participants for an in-depth examination of the role of States in the development of intercontinental rail corridors for freight, along with all the key parties concerned. The seminar, opened by Dr Habibi, First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Rahman Dadman, Iranian Minister for Roads and Transport, and Philippe Roumeguere, UIC Chief Executive, was exceptionally well-attended by transport sector decision-makers at the very highest level, with 23 ministers or vice-ministers, representation from all the international organisations (UNCTAD, regional commissions of the UN, ECO, international banks, etc.) and railway bodies (UIC, OSJD) involved, as well as executives from 25 railway companies.
