THE Manchester Recovery Task Force is consulting on three proposals to improve the reliability of train services to, from and through Manchester. If implemented, it is predicted they would reduce delays per train from the current three minutes to between 2.5 and 2.1 minutes. The proposals were published on January 14. Option A features Transport for Wales services from North Wales and Chester re-routed from Manchester Piccadilly and Airport to run to Stalybridge via Victoria. More trains will run through Victoria station to reduce the number of terminating trains, while Buxton services are reduced to an hourly service at off-peak times.
