A concourse with longer platforms and double the circulation space will greet passengers arriving at Glasgow Queen Street station for next month's COP26 climate change conference, after completion of a £120 million rebuild. Started in 2017, the upgrade included the demolition of 1970s-era buildings to make space for the expanded concourse. Platform 1 has been extended through demolition of the old staff accommodation and travel centre on Dundas Street, while Platforms 2-5 have all grown by 26 metres to accommodate Class 385 electric multiple units.
