At the AREMA 2004 Annual Conference and Exposition in Nashville last month, the new officers of the AREMA Functional Group Board of Directors and the new technical committee chairmen were installed and introduced and I am pleased to present them to you in this column. Under the leadership of Past-president Rich Keller, the Nominating Committee chose an excellent group of individuals who were elected by the Board to continue to lead our association. The Functional Group Board of Directors is made up of the senior vice president who is the chairman, the six Functional Group vice presidents and two directors per group. This is a change from previous years, and now, as president, I will preside as chairman of the newly-established Board of Governors who will have oversight of the financial and policy aspects of the Asso-ciation. The Functional Group Board of Directors will have responsibility to oversee and coordinate all the technical committee functions, approve the technical committee ballots, approve the technical content of the manuals and approve the conference technical pre-sentations.
