摘要

This book arrived on the same day I was informed of the sad passing away of the author. Roger Siviter was a prolific photographer who produced many books over the years, including many published himself through his Great Bear publications company. Steam was his passion, and this text looks at British Rail main line steam in the four decades from 1971 when the steam ban was lifted and runs through to 2010. It features four chapters, one for each of the four decades under review. Pictures are varied in location, loco types and trains and there is a mix of black and white and colour images. Each has an extended caption detailing the image.
