Historical Dictionary of the Olympic Movement fifth edition is quality work and an exhaustive overview of the Olympics. It is a big book, literally, over 900 pages and weighing about five pounds. The work strives to provide an overview of the people, events, politics, social issues, institutions, polices and all things that make the Olympics unique. The works includes: an Editor's Foreword, a Preface, a List of Acronyms and Abbreviations (keep it handy, you will need it), a Chronology, a summary of the Olympic Games and Olympic Winter Games, an Introduction, the A to Z dictionary, 27 appendixes and a Bibliography.
