The updated third edition of the Historical Dictionary of Socialism is written by Peter Lamb, the author of the second edition, and the extended dictionary includes brief entries that summarize many of the main people, events, politics, social issues, policies and institutions surrounding the topic of socialism. The updates in this edition include an expanded chronology and revised introduction and bibliography sections. In addition, there are over 500 extra entries organized alphabetically, as well as a glossary of terms. These additional entries include both present and past figures and political parties. Certain selected older entries were also expanded and fleshed out in concept.
