Times are tough for libraries, and likely to get tougher. Public and academic libraries alike are facing serious budget cuts, and will have to make difficult decisions about what resources they can afford to buy. Some publishers do not seem to have quite got the message yet, but it seems that Euromonitor, at least, have realised that they will lose customers unless they take action. Accordingly, they have merged some of their titles, and cut their prices. The title under review is an example of this. Global Market Share Planner was formerly the umbrella title for a set of six volumes: Market Share Tracker; World's Leading Global Brand Owners; Major Market Share (MMSC) Companies, Americas; MMSC, Western Europe; MMSC, Asia Pacific; and MMSC, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Euromonitor have condensed all this into a single volume.
