The Correspondence of Charles Tenney with Adelaide Case, 1861-1863 consists of about 150 letters written between 1861 and 1863. The authors are Charles Tenney, a private in Company H of the Seventh Ohio Regiment, and Adelaide Case, his friend from Mecca, Ohio. The letters are digital images of the originals donated to the University of Virginia Library by Corrine Carr Nettleton. They are organized chronologically by author followed by undated letters and fragments. The letters show the development of the romance between the two as Tenney participates in numerous engagements during the Civil War. An arrangement of the letters as a chronological narrative is still in development.
