arXiv.org (pronounced "archive") is an electronic archive of over 660,000 scholarly research articles on a variety of scientific topics (physics, mathematics, computer science, nonlinear sciences, quantitative biology and statistics). Many of the articles are published later in more traditional journals which may be linked from arXiv.org. Full-text articles are available primarily in PDF and PostScript formats. The site also provides instructions for viewing, setting or changing browser settings in order to view articles. Recently submitted articles are the focus of the site. Lists of new articles are posted via RSS feeds or email alerts. Users can contribute articles to the archive and although it is not peer reviewed the archive is moderated to ensure articles are correctly and appropriately categorized. In order to submit articles users must first register for a free account. Only the author or someone with permission can submit or edit articles. First time submissions require endorsement from another arXiv.org author.
