The third edition of the bilingual Harrap's Business Dictionary/Dictionnaire English-French Frangais-Anglais is the fruit of Harrap's experienced French/English editorial team managed by Anna Stevenson in collaboration with experts in business language from France and the UK. It is also the product of a partnership with Capital magazine. The business dictionary certainly looks the part from the outside with its bright, smart, snazzy cover. Inside the initial impression is generally confirmed with attractively laid out pages based on reasonably sized font and spacing. The use of grey highlight blocks slightly dulls the cheerful initial impression but maybe no business dictionary would be complete without ties to grey suits.

While quite a number of English-Japanese dictionaries of business and legal terms have been publishedin Japan, there seem to be very few Japanese-English dictionaries on the market which give clear explanations of thesubtle differences in meaning between the various English equivalents of terms in such specialized fields. Due to alack of clear guidance, Japanese users frequently hesitate over which term to select when writing business letters ordrafting legal documents.
