摘要

The Kursk research site is situated at the central part of Russian terrain, characterized by chernozem soils, forest-steppe natural vegetation and moderate climate conditions. The biometrical parameters such as green (living) and dead biomass, percentage cover, grass height and LAI were taken from steppe and agricultural plots during the Intensive Field Campaign (IFC) of the experiment. Additionally, meteorological data were collected and analyzed for the period of the IFC. A database was produced to examine the parameters and characterize the experimental plots. The KUREX investigations are described, and the study region and plots are characterized by measured data from the investigations.
