摘要

Spectroscopical and theoretical investigation of various aspects of molecular solvation by hydrogen bonding are presented. The focus in on clusters of phenol with water to study the hydrogen bond in water networks and the solvent interaction with the phenol OH group and the aromatic ring. The phenol dimer and trimer are considered to elucidate the effect of electronic excitation in different cluster moieties. Excited state proton transfer reactions are discussed using clusters of phenol with ammonia as an example.
