With more construction comes fewer permeable surfaces, which can eventually lead to rainwater drainage problems. DS Smith Plastics offers a product that increases drainage under hard surfaces - and is sourced entirely from recycled post-consumer plastics.The company's Beaulex system creates a buffer beneath non-permeable surfaces, such as parking lots, allowing a space for water to temporarily store as it seeps into the ground. Without such buffers, flooding is likely since the natural drainage system is disrupted by new construction.
