By the spring of 2016, Minneapolis residents will have the option to divert organics if they so choose. Officials in Minneapolis have begun the year-long rollout of optional organics collection for residents throughout the city. The first phase of the program will be completed by August, when 25 percent of the population is expected to have access to the service. Officials say by spring of 2016, the entire population will have access.
