Canadian water bottling company Ice River Springs is preparing to release a new water cooler bottle made from 100 percent recycled PET plastic. The 15-liter cooler bottles get their green tint from recycled, BPA-free green plastic bottles purchased exclusively through municipal recycling programs in Canada. Baled post-consumer bottles are sent to Ice River Springs' recycling center, Blue Mountain Plastics, in Shelburne, Ontario, where the company has been producing food-grade resin since 2011. Once manufactured, the recycled cooler bottles are filled with Canadian spring water and distributed through Ice River Springs' Arrowhead brand. Once used, the containers can be crushed by foot and added to bins for residential or commercial recycling collection.
