We're all used to the news items by now - yet another municipal or regional recycling program expands the materials that it accepts and starts taking more and more plastic items. Our Programs In Action section of the magazine is littered (no pun intended) with these notices, alongside the ubiquitous mentions of switching to some sort of single-stream collection program. The two announcements have a great deal in common, of course, as both are about one thing: capturing more material.
