With the 16-day government shutdown now in the rearview mirror, U.S. economists have begun to focus their attention 01 assessing how much economic damage was caused by the Congressional stalemate. At press time, key economic data delayed by the shutdown, including monthly unemployment numbers and economic growth estimates for the third quarter (Q3), have yet to be released, leaving economists and industries across the country with little to work with. The good news, however, is tha the recycling industry rebounded from a disappointing Q2 to perform well during Q3.
