Technology is helping municipalities implement change. Missing a collection day becomes much more problematic when it is the putrescibles collection (and of course, a system for addressing these is essential). Traditional collection day calendars for EOW recycling days have worked, but augmenting them with the very affordable online apps may help get and keep the word out conveniently (and allow residents to look up routes and days at any time, and even log missed collections). Some even send auto reminders by email, phone, or text message.
