Recycling markets are one of the main forces shaping the plastics recycling industry today. Over the past several years, two major shifts have been occurring in the recycled resin markets. The first is that post-industrial material is increasingly scarce, as resin manufacturers have begun controlling their inventories. Prime-grade resin markets have been evolving over the past two years to behave more like traditional commodities, and their pricing structure has been changing accordingly.
