Corks were popped on Wall Street as the fourth quarter (4Q) of 2010 ended up across the board, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing at 11,578, up 11 percent over the end of 2009 and a 7.3 percent increase over 3Q 2010. The Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index 4Q ended up after a roller-coaster year, finishing at 162.39, over 15 percent higher quarter-to-quarter (QTQ), and up a whopping 38 percent from year-end 2009 levels. The Standard & Poor's 500-stock index was also winning, ending at 1,257.64, over 10 percent higher than 3Q levels and up over 12 percent from the tally at last year's end. The NASDAQ Composite Index boomed, finishing out 4Q at 2,368.62, up 12 percent from the previ- ous quarter, and posting an impressive 17 percent gain from 2009s finish.
