Supermarket giant Tesco has made its latest foray into the "grey market" to purchase f9 mn worth of Polo and Ralph Lauren clothing, which will be on sale at less than half the normal price from 200 outlets. Other brands which have received the Tesco treatment include Levi jeans. A report from the economic forecasting group Business Strategies suggests that Consumer optimism has cooled off to some extent, following the period of Post-election euphoria last year. However, the optimists still have a 22-point lead Over the pessimists, which compares with 37 points just after the General Election And 24 just before the election. The decline has occurred in almost every region. However, consumers still expect a relatively strong increase in expenditure on major Items over the next 12 months.
