摘要

This report describes an instrument designed to measure the viscosity, surface tension, and density of liquids at elevated temperature and pressure. The theoretical principles, details of construction and operation, and response of the instrument are discussed in detail. As an example of the accuracy of the data generated by this instrument, the thermophysical properties of molten NaNO3–KNO3 have been measured over the temperature range 250–400 °C and are shown to be in excellent agreement with the recommended literature values.
