An automatic recording quartz spring balance is improved by using image sensor techniques. Two kinds of arrangement of the image sensor are examined. The weighing error is less than 0.15% for the maximum load. Stability against a zero point shift is excellent. Merits of this balance are discussed in comparison with previous automatic recording balances. Especially the balance system is simple in mechanism.
