The circuit of a germanium bolometer preamplifier which employs constant voltage operation of the bolometer is described. The input stage consists of a cooled, temperature‐regulated JFET located physically near the bolometer. In addition to the ac signal, a dc output signal which is useful in monitoring the bolometer temperature is available.
