摘要

It is our great pleasure to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Review of Urban and Regional Development Studies (RURDS) this year since the inaugural issue was published in January 1989. Over the two issues of Volume 20, this issue of No. 2 and the next issue of No. 3, let us briefly look back over the two decades of RURDS. RURDS, since its first appearance, has been focusing on urban, regional and related policy issues of immediate practical interest to those involved in policy formation and implementation. It has been our editorial policy that the articles contain rigorous empirical analysis, with many emphasizing policy relevance and the operational aspects of the academic disciplines, others theoretical and methodological issues. Our readership has included scholars, economists, planners, engineers, and government and private managers in both developed and developing economies of the world.
