摘要

This guest editorial introduces a special collection of four manuscripts that offer a new perspective in Risk Analysis relating to the evolving interdisciplinary field of microbial risk assessment. The objective of the collection was to focus on the strengths and limitations of the science and expand the current modeling approaches to address the needs of risk assessors for modeling growth and decline of food-borne pathogens. The manuscripts were invited from among the leading researchers and modelers in predictive microbiology and peer-reviewed by three prestigious analysts well published in these interdisciplinary fields.
