摘要

Chicago is famous for its elevated train, but there is a group that wants the world-class city to be known for its ground-level hospitality-and it calls for cars to take a flying leap. The Active Transportation Alliance (ATA) released a proposal in mid-February that called for 20 auto-free areas and public plazas across Chicago. The group fights for the rights of pedestrians and bicyclists, and its main objective is to make downtown and the neighborhoods more attractive places to live and shop.
