The city of Woodstock, Vt., had been using regular rock salt treated with liquid calcium chloride to deice their winter roadways, but they wanted a solution that worked faster and required less labor. After trying a test load of Cargill Deicing Technology's ClearLane enhanced deicer from a local retailer, David Green, superintendent for the city, was impressed with the convenience of the prewetted product and how much faster it went to work in lower temperatures when compared with rock salt.
