Transport for London was busy promoting its Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) at this year's CV Show. The membership scheme, supported by logistics industry bodies, is designed to raise standards among freight operators - running vans and trucks - in London. It features a range of member benefits. The scheme gives drivers the opportunity to gain a Train to Gain-funded NVQ Level 2 qualification at Havering College. There is a penalty charge notice assistance service, driving licence verification service, fuel advice programme and driver behaviour profiling. This feature employs in-vehicle technology to rate drivers, enabling operators to target training and implement safe driving incentives. Members can also use the FORS logo on marketing literature.
