The typical ratios of the major, minor and REE elements for the granitoid rocks, associated with the petro-mineralogical traits of the intrusions, within a tectonic setting, point out that the granodiorites (GRD), monzogranites (MZG) and syenogranites (SYG) are peraluminous, of S-type; the melanocrate diorites (Di) and the quartziferous diorites (QDi) are metaluminous, of Ⅰ-type. GRD, MZG and partially SYG are the result of the fusion of some mostly psammitic metasediments, coming from a continental crust. Di and QDi are the result of the mixing-mingling processes between the felsic crustal anatectic magmas and the basic magmas. The protolith of the basic magmas is represented by the subducted oceanic lithosphere or/and the upper mantle of the astenosphere.The main crystallisation phase and the intrusion of the Susita granitoids into the crystalline schists (Lainici-Paius Group) took place under collision-late collision tectonic conditions. In the final post-collision stage there followed a subsolidus, potassic hydrothermal episode, which led to the formation of SYG with shoshonitic trends, as well as of the migmatites of the Lainici-Paius Group. The source of this potassic pulsations is in the mafic component of the lower continental crust or, more likely, in the upper mantle.
